Recruiting Officer
Captain Cassandra L. Kelly
Captain Kelly is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) and Recruiting Officer at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 250, Iowa State University. She and her team are responsible for recruiting motivated individuals and providing comprehensive military education to cadets, cultivating them to be high-quality United States Air and Space Forces officers.
Captain Kelly entered the Air Force in 2016 through ROTC from Northern Arizona University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Masters’s degree in Intelligence Studies. Captain Kelly served as the Deputy Director of Intelligence for the United States Strategic Command. She was responsible for notifying senior combatant command leadership and national leadership of perishable intelligence related to the nuclear deterrence mission. She led her team through the analysis and evaluation of all-source intelligence to rapidly identify and report on cross-domain threats to national security.
Captain Kelly previously held the position of Operations Management Branch Chief. She was responsible for strategic planning for the J2 Joint Intelligence Operations Center, identifying emerging threats and vulnerabilities in support of defense warnings, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure mission success. Captain Kelly supported the command’s priority intelligence requirements by providing strategic indications and warnings for the Commander.
