Operations and Recruiting Officer
Major Matthew D. Willey
Major Matthew D. Willey is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) and Operations Officer at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 250, Iowa State University. He is responsible for recruiting and the comprehensive military education of cadets, cultivating them to high quality officers for the United States Air and Space Force.
Maj Willey enlisted in the United States Air Force in November 2003 and entered the TACP pipeline. In September 2009, Maj Willey commissioned and cross-trained into the TACP-O career field. As a TACP-O, he has been Assistant Flight Commander, Flight Commander, Assistant Director of Operations, and Director of Operations. Maj Willey has deployed multiple times in support of OPERATION RESOLUTE SUPPORT, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
